2025 CTMRC 5K RUN/WALK FOR PALESTINE

Description

The Connecticut Muslim Running Club is excited to present our first-ever 5K Run, an event that brings together physical wellness, faith, and humanitarian support. This year, we run with purpose—every step we take is in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Palestine. 

CTMRC's mission is centered around building an inclusive, faith-driven community that encourages both physical and spiritual growth. We believe that movement is a means of worship and a tool to strengthen our bodies, nourish our souls, and deepen our connections with one another. Our events foster an environment where Muslims of all backgrounds and fitness levels can come together to support each other in our journey toward health and personal development. Whether we're running on the track, the trail, or in a virtual space, we emphasize discipline, consistency, and excellence, values deeply rooted in our deen.

Watan, Inc d.b.a. We Will Return is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that plays a pivotal role in this mission, bridging the gap between families inside and outside of Palestine. Their efforts are focused on humanitarian relief, social activism, and education, with the goal of fostering hope and resilience in Palestinian communities. By coming together for this event, we are not only promoting health and wellness within our own community but also extending compassion to those whose lives are marked by ongoing struggles.

Event Description

Our 5K (3.1mi) Route will leave the monumental Perry Memorial Arch. This course will showcase a scenic tour along the coast on flat and easily accessible roads and sidewalks that you can walk or run. Our course will provide signs, cones, mile splits, and volunteers. It has been set up to keep all participants safe. Only 5k finishers are eligible for awards after the event.

Our FREE Kids Fun Run is for 9 years old and under ONLY.

Parents/guardians can accompany their little tykes if needed.

Once you finish, you may enjoy snacks and refreshments from our vendors. Continue to make connections and enjoy community in order to bring unity and inclusion.

Additional Information

Guaranteed shirts with registration ends AUGUST 17TH, 2025. Additional shirts may be available at the event for those who register after August 17th, but are not guaranteed.

*Registartants will receive information about early bib and shirt pick up via email. It is highly encouraged that you pick up your race materials before the race to make race day as smooth as possible.
