About
Mendocino Movement Project is excited to announce Born to Adapt 2025! This year’s event will be hosted on Saturday, May 17, 2025 in beautiful Los Olivos, California.
The Born to Adapt trail race is designed by adaptive athletes for adaptive athletes, and offers many different options for participants at all levels. This year’s Born to Adapt will offer the original Born to Adapt 3 Hour Challenge, Born to Adapt 10 Mile and 30 Mile races, which will both be hosted on-site in Los Olivos. For those who want to support or participate but can’t make it to the ranch for this year, you can donate!
This years event will be capped at 20 people. You will also notice there is no race entry fee (still camping fee of 10 per day per person). If you have any further questions please email Race Director Zach Friedley info@mendomovement.org
Event Cancellation Disclaimer
AllWeDoIsRun is optimistic that this event will happen as planned. However, it is important that we all understand and agree that everything is fluid and unforeseen challenges and changes may happen in the future.
AllWeDoIsRun is constantly monitoring, educating and interacting with our local, state and national health care officials, permit holders and venue property owners regarding COVID19, wild land fires and Safe Trail Running and Racing.
With the current social, medical and legal instabilities, it is impossible to guarantee that this event will happen as planned.
AllWeDoIsRun will conduct this event only if safe and legal as described by the CDC, state and local authorities.
AllWeDoIsRun, USDA, USFS and the venue property owners reserve the right to amend and or cancel this event at anytime.
Para Athletes Rules for 10 and 30 mile athletes
We are using the Boston Marathon descriptions for Para athletes (disabled,adaptive).

20 Spots left|Registration Opens January 12, 2025Born to Adapt 3 Hour ChallengeFreeSaturday, May 17, 202510:00 AM - 1:00 PMThis event is for disabled and non disabled people. Start/Finish will take place at the Born to Run Ultra Marathons which is happening at the same time, at the same location. All abilities are invited to join this event. We are creating a 1 mile ish loop that you can move through as many times as you want. There is no obligation to run the entire 3 Hours. Your can take breaks, do 1 lap, no laps , their are literally no rules except have fun. 1 aid station every loop Expect Mild springtime, coastal climate, gentle rolling hills, single and double track trail, wildflowers, red-tailed hawks, dark blue skies and pristine clean air makes for ideal running environment. You may arrive Friday evening and set up a camp site.

Registration Opens January 12, 2025Born to Adapt 10 MileFreeSaturday, May 17, 20257:00 AMThis event is exclusively for disabled/adaptive athletes This doesn't exclude anyone you just need to sign up for the Born to Run 10 Mile if you aren't disabled/adaptive. The course is comprised one 10 mile loop all within a fenced cattle ranch. The course will be well marked, you will not get lost. The course is 100% dirt road and trail. Pacers and guides are permitted. There will be basic aid approximately every 5 miles. You will start and finish the Main Camp. You are welcome to self crew from your personal vehicle. You may arrive Friday evening and set up a camp site. There will be festivities happening after the run in the evening on the ranch. You are all invited to enjoy this activity as well.

This doesn't exclude anyone you just need to sign up for any of the Born to Run races if you aren't disabled/adaptive. The course is comprised of 20 mile loops all within a fenced cattle ranch. the course will be well marked, you will not get lost. The course is 100% dirt road and trail. There is approximately 2300 feet of gain per each 20 mile loop. Pacers and guides are permitted. There will be basic aid approximately every 5 miles. You will pass the Main Camp and your personal vehicle every 10 miles. You are welcome to self crew from your personal vehicle. You may arrive Friday evening and set up a camp site.

We use donation funds to support Born to Adapt athletes with travel (flights), accommodations to events, outdoor gear (tents, shoes, sleeping bags, etc), and support event costs (permits, insurance, event space, official timing). We also ensure that participants have prizes and food at each event. With your help, our vision is to scale so we can put on events more often and in more locations globally. Your help also ensures that future Born to Adapt athletes have no financial barriers to attending our events.
